Pickup/Drop Off

The easy-to-use mobile and desktop interface will allow you to make dismissal changes in advance or for the current day. You can also report absences, early dismissals, and even schedule recurring dismissal instructions for after-school activities such as scouting, drama, enrichment programs, soccer practice, etc.

Before school starts, you will receive a welcome email from School Dismissal Manager with temporary login credentials. If your student was at Swanson last year, your login will remain the same. Please email the school secretary if you need another email with credentials. Once you login, please check your child’s default transportation and make sure it is listed correctly. If the default is incorrect and you need to change it, please scroll to the bottom of the change password and Preferences screen.

When creating an exception for the current day, please note that the cut-off time is 3:00 PM. After this time you will need to call the school office to make any changes for the current day.

Here are a few Fast Facts that you will need to know for getting started:

  1. The Parent Login area is found at the top right of the homepage.
  2. When you login for the first time, you will be prompted and required to change your password immediately.
  3. Please refer to the Parent Guide for Creating Exceptions for details on how to use the system.
  4. As you begin to use School Dismissal Manager, if you have questions, please check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) link found in the Parent login area at the top of the homepage. Here, you will find answers to the most commonly asked questions. If your question remains unanswered after checking here, please contact the school office and we will be happy to assist you further.
  5. When you start to receive the email notifications of changes or cancellations that are made for your child, please keep in mind that hitting Reply or Reply All on those emails does not reply to the school. If you need to respond to a notification (i.e., to inform the school it is incorrect, provide additional details, etc.) please call the school directly and talk with someone in the office.
  6. Do not use the Recurring Dismissal feature to put in your child’s “default” dismissal.
  7. Each school day, School Dismissal Manager will send a comprehensive dismissal report to the school immediately following the cut-off time, allowing administrators and staff to facilitate a smooth dismissal.

Thank you for using this tool to help us keep the dismissal process safe and orderly for all our students. Please contact our office if you have any questions or concerns.

You will receive a Welcome Email from School Dismissal Manager (SDM). If you are new to SDM, it will show your Username and a Temporary Password at the top.

Default vs. Exception: a default dismissal is the way your child goes home most days and is considered the standard dismissal, every child must have only one default assigned; an exception is a change to that default.

1. To login… (top right of homepage) if you are new to SDM, use your Username and Password from the Welcome Email, you will be required to change your password immediately before proceeding. If you are a returning user, you may continue using the same username and password that you have used in the past. If you have forgotten your password, use the Forgot Password link next to the login area to reset it.

2. To set Default Dismissal… Click on set default dismissal in the green box at the top of the screen. On the mobile app, click on the three lines in the top left and choose Default Dismissals.

3. To create an exception… click on the day that you wish to create an exception. Next to the child you are creating an exception for, select the exception from the dropdown options and then click Update Schedule. Some exceptions require that you enter a short explanatory note. Note: You may select an exception for each of your children before clicking on Update Schedule.

4. To Cancel an exception… click on the day you are cancelling an exception. Out to the right of each exception is a Cancel Exception link. Click the link for each exception you wish to cancel and then click Done in the bottom right.

5. To Create a Recurring Exception… Example: a sports practice that occurs every Monday and Wednesday for six weeks, click on Recurring Dismissals in the top menu. Select the student’s name and then select the dismissal instruction from the dropdown options. Next, select which days of the week the dismissal instruction will occur (you may select up to three days). Last, set a date range and click Schedule Recurring Dismissal InstructionNote: You can only create recurring dismissals for one child at a time.

6. To Cancel Recurring Exceptions… click on Recurring Dismissals in the menu and select the student’s name. Then click on Click Here to Delete All Existing Recurring Dismissal Instructions and Reset to Default Value for this StudentNote: This will cancel ALL recurring dismissals that have been set for this student. To cancel a single day within a Recurring set, refer to #4.
