LEAD After-School is possible through the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant. It is a hands-on, experiential-based after-school program that meets four days a week, Mon-Thurs until 4PM each quarter. Included in the program is supper (free), open gym, busing, and fun! These are the reasons to sign your student up for LEAD:
- If your student needs to develop confidence and leadership skills. This is first and foremost goal of LEAD. We provide safe opportunities to grow in these areas so they can handle all challenges in life.
- If your student needs another set of eyes on their grades. In LEAD, our staff will monitor your students’ regular-day grades and pull them out for tutoring during after-school if they fall behind or need extra help.
- If your student needs health or PE (these are not offered in the regular day schedule because of our small staff).
- If your student enjoys hands-on projects and fun interactions with peers and teachers. We don’t have sports, but we have classes where students experience activities they will never forget!
