In the summer of 2018, the Mat-Su School District announced that it would be adding eSports to the roster of activities high school students could participate in.

Palmer High is excited to have an active eSports team, competing in Overwatch and Rocket League for the fall season and hopefully adding League of Legends in the spring season.

In the fall of 2018, both our Overwatch team and our League of Legends team made the playoffs!  Overwatch advanced to the top of the MSBSD teams, and came in second in the State Championships, just behind Dimond High School.  This January, Overwatch competed in the National Championship against the Kaynor Tech Panthers from CT and came in fourth overall in the tournament.

Prestige; Palmer High Team earns grand prize at MTA eSports event

At the beginning of October, MTA hosted their eUnlimited Gaming Tournament.  It was a fantastic event from start to finish, and gave PHS students the opportunity to compete in more than just the games offered by our eSports program.  Our Overwatch team came in second behind UAA's team, and our Rocket League team won their tournament!  The players all received eSports jerseys for their win, and MTA donated $1000 to the PHS eSports program!
