We have diverse special education programs at FLE and strive to meet the needs of all our children and the families we serve. This includes various levels of service, depending on each student's unique needs. Each child on an IEP has their own specific set of needs that we look at that individually to design the program most appropriate for them. If a program at our school is the best fit, parents, and classroom teachers are an integral part of our team. We currently have five full-time special education lead teachers (Preschool, RISE, Intensive Resource, Behavior Support, and two Resource classes) as well as an amazing staff of special education paraprofessionals who work hand in hand with the special education teachers.
If children need extra support in their learning but are not on an IEP, we do have a tiered approach to learning that also gives support to those who just need a boost or a little extra time to learn skills. This is embedded in the daily curriculum and our tiered interventions.
For more information about academic or behavioral interventions or extensions, please contact your child's teacher. You may also contact our instructional coach, social-emotional learning coordinator, school psychologist, or principal.
