• National Junior Honor Society
     
      
    Purpose: to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character and citizenship in the students of Teeland Middle School. 
     
    Membership: 
    1) Membership is based on scholarship, character, leadership, citizenship, and service.
    2) Applications for membership are issued to second semester 7th graders and 8th graders who have a grade point average of 3.75 or higher.
    3) The Faculty Council, consisting of five faculty members, shall review candidate applications and determine membership.
     
    Expectations:
    1) Members shall maintain a quarterly grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
    2) Members shall maintain an outstanding record of conduct and behavior in regard to school and community rules, guidelines, and policies.
    3) Members are expected to attend a minimum of 80% of scheduled meetings (every other Wednesday morning at 7 A.M.).
    4) Members are expected to purchase an NJHS shirt, to be worn at all NJHS sponsored service projects.
    5) Members are expected to "dress for success" on meeting days.
    6) Annual dues for this chapter are $20 ($10 if inducted at mid-year) per year.  Members are expected to pay their annual dues within 30 days of each new school year.
    7) Members shall participate in at least one service project per semester.  In addition, members are required to complete at least 20 hours of individual community service per school year.
