• Sherrod Elementary is fortunate to have a library with one of the largest collections in the Mat-Su School District.

After many years of service in Sherrod's library, Ms. Deb Melton retired at the end of the 2016-2017 school year. The new librarian is Sean Williams, moving from his former position as fifth-grade teacher. Go to his page to find out more about him.

The library is open for patrons (students, staff, and parents) daily from 8:30 to 4:00.

Books are checked out for 2 weeks, and can be renewed unless there is a hold on the book from another patron. However, it will be the unofficial policy that students may keep a book as long as they need, if they are making adequate reading progress (as determined by Mr. Williams and the student's teacher).

Most of the library's titles have matching quizzes in the Accelerated Reader system. Click here for more information.
